We started the year with a reception at Twin Oaks in Cranston. We had a very good turn out for this event. The CEU program was provided by Davol, Inc.

We again celebrated OR Nurses’ Week in November with an informational booth at Warwick Mall. Blood pressure screening was provided and a raffle was held. We did not make a profit this year however we were able to donate $100.00 to the RI Food Bank and pay our expenses.

Members who attended monthly meetings received a total of 7.3 contact hours.

And although we were not able to provide CEU’s for Dr. Russell White’s presentation I think those who attended would agree with me in saying it was one of the best we have heard.

vacancies. National HQ was again consulted regarding allowing member with less than 2 years membership to run for office. We had a member of less than two years willing to run for a Nominating Committee. In order to encourage enthusiastic members the recommendation was made to change the state bylaws to meet the chapter needs.

The results of the 2002-2003 balloting are as follows: the Bylaw change is accepted.

Looking forward:

There will be a transitional Board meeting on June 24, 2002 at Kent. At that time the fall meeting schedule and fund raisers will be discussed.
